Can you imagine being born without arms or legs?
That’s certainly not something that any of us want to imagine, let alone experience.
But this was the case for one of my heroes in life, Nick Vujicic.
This is Nick as a young kid… 
Nick was born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder that caused him to be born without limbs.
During his childhood in Melbourne, Australia, Nick experienced extreme loneliness and depression. Questioning what possible purpose a limbless person could ever have in this life, he felt that he’d be better off dead and attempted to take his own life.
Thankfully his attempt didn’t work!
Today, Nick Vujicic is happily married with four kids, a world-renowned speaker, New York Times best-selling author, coach, and entrepreneur, all without limbs.
Nick took to heart what his father would tell him throughout the years, “You are a gift, just differently packaged,” helping him overcome ridiculous odds while turning his pain into purpose to inspire millions!
How incredible is that?!?!
I came across the below quote of Nick’s several years ago on gratitude, and it changed my life! I like to revisit it from time to time whenever I need a shift in perspective.
Choosing gratitude’s what’s allowed Nick to shift his perspective of the world, from one of lack to one of abundance. And you and I have that same choice.
