On November 18 the local soccer community lost one of its finest coaches.
Brian Coulter passed way from ALS after a long hard fought battle. Brian was known to many in our area as a class one GK instructor and soccer licensing instructor.
Brian was an excellent soccer clinician and will be missed by us and his players. We offer our condolences to the Coulter family, Brian’s friends, and players.
“See you on the heavenly pitch Brian!”
—Sal Blanco – State Coaching Committee Chair
“Touching article written by Brian. We all need to remember it is just a game especially with the children we coach.”
—Craig Winans – 2nd Vice Chairman
“Those of us who knew and had the opportunity to work with Brian Coulter will miss him. One fine gentleman!”
—Gladys Olsen – President, Fresno Metro YSL
“Personally I did not have an ongoing, personal relationship with Brian, since we never coached together within the same Clubs. However, Brian always stood out to me as a truly dedicated coach, who, unlike many others, coached for all the right reasons and that was to better his players on and off of the field. Not for any selfish, ego oriented reason. It was all about the players!
He will always be remembered in my mind as a true professional who always strove to better himself for the benefit of those that he coached. Brian was a positive example for all of us coaches.” —Clay Ice – Coaching Admin., North Fresno YSL
