Shirley Thompson’s legacy was recognized on Saturday, August 31st, as Cal North commemorated its second-consecutive Hall of Fame Night at PayPal Park. The Thompson family received the award on behalf of Shirley, who passed away on Dec. 16, 2022.
Shirley was loved by all who knew her and there are no shoes that can fill that big heart of hers. She has left a void that the Cal North community feels. There are only certain times in someone’s life when someone like Shirley crosses your path, and when they do, we are so blessed and much better off. It is times like these that we all wish that Shirley were standing here with us. She would have loved every minute of being honored and inducted into the Cal North Hall of Fame, as she loved CYSA/Cal North and everything it stood for.
