At the Manchester United Academy, parents are required to sign a contract to say that they will not shout instructions from the sideline. Coaches are also silent while the ball is in play.
The reason given by Rene Meulensteen, in charge of the set-up at Manchester United: “Footballers [Soccer] players cannot learn how to make their own decisions if they are used to receiving instructions from the touchline.”
Seems obvious does it not?
If no shouting instructions by parents and silent coaches is demanded by one of the world’s premier soccer clubs at their youth games. One would think that it may be an appropriate player development environment for District-7 to establish; especially if we believe that…
