⚽ Respect the Game

A World Cup Reminder from D7 Commissioner John Hodgson

I’m writing from the UK, where football kicks off at 12 noon, 3 p.m., and so on — times that, for us in the U.S., usually mean 4 a.m. or 7 a.m. 😴 But this time, the World Cup is coming home to our time zones — USA, Mexico, and Canada! Ticket prices are slowly coming down, and I hope many of you will get the chance to go. 🎟️

🚗 Our Own World Cup Every Weekend

Nearly every Saturday, D7 families are on the road heading to a match. Those games — from U6 to U8 and beyond — can be just as thrilling as any World Cup match. The sidelines buzz with cheers, laughter, and proud parents. Let’s make sure that noise stays 100 % positive so our young players can truly enjoy the game. 💚

🤝    the Game

To respect the game means respecting everyone — players, coaches, and referees. The angry spectator ruins the joy for all. Remember: every player, coach, and referee is doing their best. Encourage. Support. Celebrate. That’s how we keep soccer beautiful. 🌟

🌎 The World’s Game

Soccer is one of the greatest sports in the world, played and loved everywhere. The Olympics and the World Cup unite billions of fans, but the heart of the game beats right here in our local fields. Enjoy the World Cup, yes, but even more, enjoy soccer with your friends, family, and teammates. ❤️⚽

And during all this excitement, don’t forget …
